Inclusion Team Program

This program equips a faith community with the knowlege, skills and awareness it needs to be a welcoming and inclusive house of worship through the work of an Inclusion Team. The Team helps its congregation to identify and prioritize needs for access and inclusion. Direction and rate or speed of change is controlled internally, while DAMI's role is to serve as a mentor, guide and coach to the Inclusion Team.

• Composed of ten to twelve volunteer community members.

• Gathers information and data about the building and the demography of the congregation.

• Reports findings to the congregation about barriers that prevent full participation.

• Provides a forum for people with disabilities to tell their stories and share their preferences.

• Makes recommednations to remove barriers and advocates for people with disabiltiies.

• Supports clergy and staff in doing the work of inclusive ministry.
